Simple Rules for MICE Safety at Events

We have been taking another look at SASREA (Safety at Sports & Recreational Events Act). Gone is the applicable capacity of 2000 plus. Interestingly Steve Levitt head of AON South Africa commented in Money Matters some 18 months ago that ‘SASREA firmly places the responsibility on all parties involved to ensure safety at events’.  The definitions for ‘event’, ‘event planner’, ‘organiser’ etc are very broad. It’s virtually everyone in the line of fire! Placing the onus on the hiring of a safety company is not going to cut it. When Steve Levitt says ‘all parties’ he is not joking.

The Definitive ‘P in Professional’ Workshop will ensure that participants have the necessary knowledge in their Portfolio Toolkit to protect themselves.  Certainly safety companies have their place however ignorance of the rules as a planner is not wise.  Check out the programme contents at www.miceacademy.co.za top tag ‘P’ in Professional……’
